Webtrade deploys with Hosting365

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Webtrade & Hosting365Hosting365, Ireland’s leading Managed Services and Data Centre facility provider, has signed a deal with Webtrade, one of Ireland’s top web design, development and online marketing companies.

Webtrade & Hosting365Hosting 365 is Ireland’s largest hosting provider with over 35% of the market, and operates its own 25,000 square feet, state of the art data centre in Park West, Dublin. Their deal, thought to be worth around €100,000, is for the provision of website hosting solution for Webtrade’s client base. Hosting365’s Hsphere clustered solution will allow Webtrade to create and manage web hosting plans at ease for their customers, with added functionality such as full transparency of usage data per client to enable easy invoicing.

Founded in 1998, Webtrade is one of Ireland’s longest established and highly successful web development companies having developed more than 500 websites for businesses and government agencies.

Commenting on the deal, Gary Cosgrave, Sales Director, Webtrade (pictured right), said, “Hosting365 was chosen giving us confidence that they can accommodate our own technological growth while ensuring our clients receive a service level that’s second to none.”

Kevin O’Connor, Channel Manager, Hosting 365 (pictured right), which was named as Ireland’s seventh fastest growing technology company in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50, commented, “Our dedicated solutions are tailored for customers seeking a flexible, stable and secure hosting solution.  As Ireland’s only Cloud Computing provider, we can provide on demand IT services.  Our cloud hosting solution offers our customers with a fully redundant solution, providing automatic failover of dedicated server solutions at both a physical and virtual level.  This means that their server is constantly available within the Hosting365 cloud server environment. Should an individual data centre encounter issues, services can simply fail over to another available data centre facility within the Hosting365 cloud network.”

“At Hosting365 we are trying to change the way businesses think about IT and how they buy hardware or software applications.  We invest in the very best technology, infrastructure, R&D and technical staff so that our clients can enjoy Ireland’s most sophisticated IT infrastructure with absolute efficiency, flexibility and security.  This enables our customers to concentrate on what’s important to them – growing their business!” O’Connor added.

Apart from the usual web design and web development, search engine optimisation, email and website hosting offerings, Webtrade’s services include online booking and reservation systems, onlinemarketing and their Content Management System, Siternity.

Siternity is based on the Software as a Service model (SaaS) which they claim reduces the lifetime ownership costs of websites by over 50%.  Webtrade’s clients receive a novel warranty that the standard features of their websites are permanently in-step with the latest web technologies, and with regular upgrades, clients are informed as to what the new and improved functionality entails and how it will benefit their on-line presence – making this investment very appealing to the business community.

Hosting 365 Announces Sale of Register365 to Namesco

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

29th May 2008 - Hosting365 has announced the sale of Register365, its shared hosting and
domain registration division, to Namesco, the fourth largest domain name and hosting provider in the United Kingdom and one the top 50 largest hosting providers in the world, for an undisclosed sum. With 35% market share, the purchase of Register365, Ireland’s largest hosting provider, is a strategic purchase as part of Namesco’s overall expansion plan.

Namesco, established in 1996, has an enviable reputation in the United Kingdom for providing a wide range of quality Internet Service products backed by expert in-house customer care and support.

Kevin Savage, Namesco’s Managing Director, said, “We are delighted to acquire Ireland’s largest hosting provider. Namesco’s purchase of Register365 is part of our expansion plan and further consolidates our position as one of the leading shared hosting providers in the world. We look forward to continuing to provide the high level of services Register365’s customers are accustomed to.”

Commenting on the sale, Stephen McCarron, Managing Director, Hosting365, said, “The sale of Register365 is a major milestone in the history of Hosting365 as it marks the complete evolution of our business. Two years ago we took the strategic decision to acquire our own Data Centre facility and focus the company on Hosted Managed Services for the enterprise market. Since that period Hosting365 has experienced huge growth in this sector which now accounts for over two thirds of our turnover. This was recently acknowledged when we were named the seventh fastest growing technology company in Ireland as part of the Deloitte Fast 50. We plan to invest all proceeds from the sale into growing our team, expanding our infrastructure and developing new
products and services on our cloud computing platform,”

“We have taken the decision to sell Register365 in order to focus on our managed services offering and to continue our growth in Ireland and internationally. This was a very personal decision for me to make as Register365 was once the core of the business I founded in 2001. We decided to sell Register365 to Namesco as they fundamentally matched our company values and have an excellent reputation for customer service. For example, they were recently named as the best shared hosting provider of 2008 at the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) Awards in the UK,” McCarron added.

None of Register365’s customers will be affected by the sale as Register365’s services will continue to be delivered in Ireland. The sale of Register365 is the latest milestone in Hosting365’s expansion strategy. The company recently announced a €2 million investment in new infrastructure and the creation of 20 jobs. Hosting365 also plans to hire an additional 14 staff in its Dublin and Polish offices by the end of the year.

€2 Million Euro Expansion

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

6th March – hosting365, an Outsourced IT Services and Internet Hosting provider, has announced a €2 million investment in new infrastructure, which has led to the creation of 20 jobs.

Ed Byrne, Hosting365 General Manager, shows off the new HP Blade and SAN Grid CloudThe investment has seen the company incorporate blade server and virtualisation technology into its existing facilities in order to offer a range of new services. hosting365 signed deals with HP to provide the blade server technology and with VMware for the virtualisation software.

It has enabled the company to offer its customers on-demand IT services, such as Hardware as a Service and Software as a Service, allowing clients to pay for IT as and when they use it. The new technology positions hosting365 to match the shifting needs of companies looking to reduce future investments in IT infrastructure and power consumption costs.

The company milestone has led to the creation of twenty jobs, all of which have been filled. The new recruits include Senior UNIX, Networking and Microsoft engineers, as well as technical infrastructure staff. hosting365 also plans to hire an additional 14 staff in its Dublin and Polish offices by the end of the year as it continues to expand.

Commenting on the announcement, Stephen McCarron, Managing Director, hosting365, said “This is a strategic investment which has enabled us to offer on-demand IT services. We are now in a position to offer organisations computing assets as and when they need them. IT is not a core competency for most organisations, so it makes little sense from them to make huge investments when they can take advantage of our staff’s technical expertise and cut down on capital expenditure,”

“Companies are starting to realise that they are overspending on IT and their existing investments are often underutilised. The outsourced managed services model is a cost effective solution as they can take advantage of our economies of scale. hosting365 combines the best of both worlds by offering world class data centre facilities and the IT expertise of our diverse engineering, technician and support teams,” McCarron added.

“By combining the VMware layer with the high availability, high performance components of the HP infrastructure, Irish companies can, for the first time, avail of the benefits of a multi million euro infrastructure for a cost less then a traditional dedicated server,” added Sales Director, Paul Lynch. “This approach to how managed hosting is delivered will change not only how it is viewed in Ireland, but also globally”.
hosting365’s existing clients include the Irish Stock Exchange, the Irish Government Department for Social & Family Affairs, Certified Public Accountants of Ireland, O2, daft.ie and entertainment.ie.

New DNS Servers

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

As part of our ongoing programme to improve the service we provide, we will be upgrading all three of our name servers ns1.hosting365.ie, ns2.hosting365.ie, and ns3.hosting365.ie. Two of the servers will be moving out of country to independent networks in London (ns2) and Amsterdam (ns3), both at the heart of European internet infrastructure. ns1 is being replaced with a new machine dedicated to authoritative DNS service. As a result of this move, the IP addresses associated with these machines will be changing:

NS1 currently 82.195.128.132 will change to 82.195.143.132
NS2 currently 82.195.128.192 will change to 89.167.218.2
NS3
currently 82.195.146.192 will change to 89.167.137.193

The legacy servers will be remaining online and available as caching servers.

Increase in INEX Capacity

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Hosting365.com have increased their INEX capacity with a new 1Gbps link in Data Electronics.

inex_logo_200width.jpgIncreasing our capacity on our INEX links provides a number of business benefits - first off, it’s a huge increase in our bandwidth (we would be one the fastest members now, and certainly the best connected hosting company) which means we can handle traffic spikes (like Christmas or Budget day).

Second of all INEX routes Irish traffic to Irish sites all within it’s network - which means latency is really really low - therefore giving the fastest possible download of your site, higher quality VOIP calls and better for on-line gaming too - so increasing capacity is a good thing. Finally, it means in the event of a disaster, our multiple links being this fast allows us fail-over all traffic without any service degradation to the customer.
