Bitbuzz selects Hosting365 for future proof data centre partner

Bitbuzz, Ireland’s leading network provider, has selected Hosting365 as its data centre and hosting partner of choice. The selection was made after an extensive evaluation of market leaders in which Hosting365 consistently came out in front.

Alex French, Finance and Operations director, was responsible for the selection of a new hosting provider to suit Bitbuzz’s growing needs. “We had experienced significant growth and basically wanted to upgrade our hosting services. We were looking for better facilities and 24×7 support in a high spec environment. We also wanted a partner that could offer the most effective selection of internet access through all the main carriers.

“A common theme developed and we found Hosting365’s name cropping up on a regular basis as the hosting provider which was recommended time and again.

Bitbuzz has been active in the past twelve months securing blue chip customers such as The Merion Hotel, Radisson Hotel Galway and the Holiday Inn Dublin, adding to existing high-profile customers such as The Mespil Hotel and the Fitzpatrick Castle in Killiney. Bitbuzz also provides Wi-Fi services to the Thomas Read group of café bars, the Travelodge hotel chain and Kylemore Cafes nationwide.

“We needed a hosting provider that could ensure 99.999 percent uptime, stresses French. “An infrastructure is only as strong as its weakest link. In order to offer world class service we needed to partner with a world class provider. Hosting365 met all our criteria both for immediate service and also for projected service into the future.

One of the differentiators that attracted Bitbuzz to Hosting365 was its membership of INEX, the Internet Neutral EXchange Association of Ireland, Ireland’s only Internet Exchange, located in Dublin. Hosting365 is the first non-ISP organisation to have joined this association.

“We joined INEX in 2004 as we saw its value to promoting and developing IP traffic, says Stephen McCarron, managing director of Hosting365. “By being a member of INEX we can better exploit high-speed, reliable and resilient IP within Ireland and thereby provide faster, more reliable and lower-latency Internet access for ours customers.

“Within the Internet-savvy community in Ireland, our membership is a definite advantage.

Bitbuzz migrated its servers and custom to Hosting365 in January. “Another compelling advantage to using Hosting365 is that it is an Irish company based in Dublin, says French. “We were able to walk around the impressive data centre, view the other facilities and see first-hand the security measures. Their service is also very flexible and transparent. In addition to the current space we have taken, Hosting has reserved further adjacent space for our future growth.

“Changing data centres is a painful experience. We had to make sure we make the right choice as we don’t want to do it again for a long time, concludes French.
