DemonWare selects Hosting365.ie for Mission-Critical Multiplayer Game Software Located on Irish Servers
… DemonWare, the leading supplier of network software to the games industry, has selected Hosting365 for its hosting requirements. A key decision for DemonWare to choose Hosting365 was its Irish presence and location of mission critical server centre in Dublin.
Sean Blanchfield, co-founder and head of technology at DemonWare, also found Hosting365 to be very flexible in its service offering. “We had some very specialised hosting requirements. The server was to run specialised customer support systems and websites. It would be the primary point of contact for our company and our products, and also act as a testbed for customers that are developing multiplayer games. For that kind of mission critical service we decided that we needed to use a data centre in Dublin.
“The fact that Hosting365 could offer us a secure Dublin location - coupled with flexible resources and a competitive price - made it a very easy decision to go with them. We will be significantly extending our server infrastructure over the next 6 months, and I know that Hosting365 will be flexible enough to accommodate our growing needs.
DemonWare is a network software company whose products enable computer gamers from around the world to play against each other in real time over the internet.
Its flagship BitDemon software allows developers of PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC software to easily add essential online multiplayer modes to their games. As a tried-and-tested networking component, it allows game developers to reduce project time and risk, and instead focus on gameplay.
Stephen McCarron, managing director of Hosting365, is delighted with the decision. “DemonWare is a very exciting company positioned in the middle of a burgeoning industry. As computer-based games become increasingly realistic in presentation, artists are replacing programmers as key drivers for success. This in turn has led to game developers outsourcing technology to companies such as DemonWare.
“DemonWare has a very demanding set of hosting requirements, which include access in the case of emergency. By providing a dedicated server and co-operative engineering resources, we can be sure their business is always-on – just like the players!
